Arc shuts down on December 22. Your workflow doesn’t have to.

Keep the Arc way of working.
In Chrome.

Kite isn’t a new browser. It’s an extension that gives Chrome and Brave the stuff you miss from Arc — Peek, folders that keep their tabs, spaces and a command bar. Your Arc setup moves over in one click.

Works in ChromeBraveEdgeDia

Peek

Click a link. Peek it, don’t open it.

Links open in a window over the page you’re on. Read, press Esc, and you’re right where you were. No more tab pile-up.

  • Click or ⇧-click a link
  • Esc closes it
  • Keep it as a tab, split view or a little window

Tabs & folders

Tabs on the side. Folders that remember.

Chrome’s own vertical tabs, plus folders that keep their tabs. Open a folder and everything’s there, the way you left it. Nest them as deep as you like.

  • Right-click the tab strip → Show Tabs Vertically
  • Folders come back after a restart

Back home

Close a tab. It goes back home.

Wandered five pages deep? Hit ⌘W and the tab snaps back to its home page and takes a nap. Pinned tabs and tabs in folders never just disappear.

  • Sleeping tabs free up memory
  • One click wakes them up

Spaces

Work and life, a keystroke apart.

Every space is its own window with its own pinned tabs and folders. Switch with ⌃1, ⌃2 — or swipe through them in the Kite Bar.

  • A color per space
  • Spaces across Chrome profiles, with Kite Helper

Kite Bar

Everything is three letters away.

⌃S opens the Kite Bar: open tabs first, then folders, history and commands. Type a bit, hit Enter, you’re there.

  • Folders unfold right in the list
  • Search keywords: yt, gh, w…

Built for how you actually work

Import from Arc

Your setup moves over in one click.

Spaces, pinned tabs and folders, nesting and all. Then Arc can go.

✓ 2 spaces · 5 folders · 6 pinned tabs

Little Kite

Links from other apps don’t become tabs.

Click a link in Slack, Mail or Telegram and it opens in a small window. Keep it, or send it to your main window.

Split view

Two pages side by side.

Drop a link at the right edge of the page, or hit the split button in Peek. Uses Chrome’s own split view.

Sleeping tabs

Old tabs nap, your Mac breathes.

Tabs you haven’t opened in a while go to sleep and free up memory. They wake up when you click.

⌥⇧C, and the link is clean.

Copies the page’s address without the tracking junk. Works on any page, like in Arc.

Kite Helper

A tiny Mac app for the rest.

Shortcuts from any app, links from other apps, and one list of spaces across every browser and profile. Optional.

It’s still your Chrome.

Nothing to switch

Your passwords, extensions, bookmarks and sync stay right where they are. Kite just adds a layer on top.

Off whenever you want

Turn Kite off and your tabs are just tabs again. Nothing breaks, nothing’s locked in.

No account, no servers

Questions

Is Kite a new browser?

Nope. It’s an extension for the Chrome or Brave you already have. Install it, import your Arc setup, keep going.

Does Kite replace Chrome’s tabs?

No. Kite works with Chrome’s own tabs, groups, vertical tabs and split view, and adds what Arc had on top. Turn Kite off and your tabs are just tabs again.

Which browser should I pick?

Chrome or Brave: Kite is built and tested on both. It runs in Dia, Edge, Opera and Vivaldi too; Dia handles windows its own way, so a few things work worse there. It doesn’t run in Firefox-based browsers like Zen.

What happens to my Arc data?

Kite reads your Arc spaces, pinned tabs and folders when you import them, and keeps a copy in your bookmarks. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Do I need Kite Helper?

No. Everything in the browser works without it. The helper adds what an extension can’t do alone: shortcuts from any app, links from other apps, and one list of spaces across browsers and profiles.

Is Pro a subscription?

No: you pay once and keep it. You can try every Pro feature for 7 days first.
